The most iconic facet of any Mandalorian is the armor, as they’re constantly upgrading and tweaking both their suit and arsenal. In the first season of The Mandalorian, Din Djarin (played by Pedro Pascal) earns his Mudhorn signet and finally clips on the signature bounty hunter jetpack. Going forward in season 2, then, we expect Mando to add even more pieces to his modular battle suit.
The fourth season of Stranger Things, arguably Netflix’s hottest property, had halted its production due to the pandemic soon after work began. And while the resultant delays dampened fans’ moods, the cast sounds pretty chipper about it, as they put a positive spin on the entire situation. Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington, said that the extra time is ultimately a good thing, as the writers get more room to polish the story and the Duffer brothers can focus on delivering an even better final experience.
The next Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland is among the MCU’s most highly-anticipated films, and understandably so. After all, Holland’s run as Spidey has enjoyed an overwhelmingly positive reaction from critics and fans alike. But a movie’s defining trait isn’t just its hero, as a great villain is vital to the momentum of the story, too. We’ve already met Vulture (Michael Keaton) and Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), and the smart money is on Kraven the Hunter being cast as the next antagonist to torment Peter Parker.
In a movie like Avengers: Endgame that 's full of awesome “Holy S#@!” moments it’s quite hard to pinpoint the best ones. But Smart Hulk is definitely among the contenders for the top of that list. While the MCU couldn’t officially give Hulk his own movie due to Universal owning the character rights, it was still a great culmination to his personal narrative arc. The smart version of the angry green giant didn’t fully materialize until Endgame, but hints of his appearance were dropped throughout Thor: Ragnarok.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was packed full of references and Easter Eggs, but this new one is pretty hard to miss if you aren't watching closely.
The first big-screen foray into the Spider-Verse was incredible. Not only did Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse successfully weave multiple Spider-People into a great story, but it did so with one of the coolest animated art styles we’ve seen to date. So, it was hardly surprising that a sequel was announced, one that producer Christopher Miller promises will “make the first movie look quaint.” What did come as a surprise, however, were the rumors of a live-action version of the Spider-Verse movie starring Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland.
There seems to be trouble brewing in paradise, as Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action TV series has gone from beacon of hope to impending train wreck. The project started out as a chance to scrub M. Night Shyamalan’s terrible The Last Airbender from our memories, with fans excited by the fact that the original animated show creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko were involved with the project. This was further bolstered by reports that the show was set to become Netflix’s most expensive series yet, which sounded like a match made in heaven – the original creators plus a massive bankroll, what could go wrong? And then they announced their exit.
As the Marvel Cinematic Universe slowly expands on the rest of its comic book-inspired world, we’re going to meet more super groups than just the Avengers. Among them will be the Eternals, who are getting their own self-titled movie in 2021. We’ve already been introduced to one Eternal in the MCU, as grand villain Thanos owes some of his epic abilities to his mutant-Eternal heritage, but he might not be the only Eternal we’ve run into so far.
It’s been a while since we’ve gotten any progress updates on Netflix’s live-action remake of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and it seems there's a good reason for that. The original creators of the show, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, have officially announced their departure from the project. This comes as a huge Airbender-powered knockout punch to the collective fandom's gut, as hopes were sky high for the series with the duo's involvement. Now, fans fear that the show might not live up to the expectations that've been conjured for it.
